We also recommend you to consider trips to Karlovy Vary, Pilsen and Mariánské Lázně. Here is a brief description of what you can find in each of the listed locations:
Carlsbad (Czech Karlovy Vary)
Carlsbad is one of the most traditional spa towns in the world. The charming city center built in the rococo, neo-baroque and art nouveau style is a perfect place for those who like admiring architecture and the history behind it.
Don’t forget to try the Karlovy Vary sweet wafers, sip on mineral healing waters directly from the hot springs, or enjoy the traditional herb liqueur Becherovka. And for the movie fans, we recommend the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary, which takes place every year in early July.
Pilsen (Czech Plzen)
Pilsen – where Pilsner Urquell, one of the best beers in the world, was born. If you have always wondered what makes the beer so good, take a closer look at how it’s made in a brewery tour around the Pilsner Urquell factory.
But, Pilsen has more to offer than just beer. You can get a good overview of the city on top of the tower of St. Bartholomew's Cathedral at the main square (Namesti Republiky). The tower is 337 ft (102,6m) high, making it the highest church tower in the Czech Republic. See the sights and fit in a work out by walking up its 301 steps. In addition to the historic old town, there is also a zoo and botanical garden to explore.
If you are a golf fan, then you should visit the Golf Club Alfredov that is closely located to Pilsen. Moreover, upon presenting your room card from the King's Resort you will receive a 10% discount off the green fee.
The spa town is famous for its mineral springs and the singing fountain, which performs from the end of April to early November every odd hour from 7:00am to 10:00pm (final displays 9:00 and 10:00pm). Your trip to Marianske Lazne will be especially worthwhile if you want to visit the Royal Golf Club or the Golf Club Kynzvart; where you can also receive a 20% discount by showing them your room card from the King's Resort.
Questions about cash games
What is the minimum bet for the table games (i.e. Poker, Blackjack, Roulette etc.)?
The minimum bets vary from table to table. Each table has a picture frame where the minimum bets and the payouts are stated. In poker however, minimum bets are set with small and big blinds. For No-Limit Texas Hold’em, the blinds start at € 1 / € 2, and € 2 for Pot-Limit Omaha.
Can I take breaks?
Yes, you can take a break anytime. Your chips remain in this case at the table.
What is the difference between a cash-game and a tournament?
In a cash game, the chips are like real money. You can leave the table at any time to withdraw your chips. You can also buy chips at any time. The blinds are set at the beginning and remain unchanged. The game continues as long as there are two or more players sitting at the poker table.
In a tournament, the chips do not match the Euro value and your chip stack is limited. The blinds go up over time. The goal is to win all the other players’ chips. Whoever has all the chips in the end, wins the tournament. If you lose all your chips, your participation in the tournament will end. In many tournaments, however, a re-entry is possible, which means that you can buy another chip stack. The exact conditions vary depending on the tournament.
Questions about tournaments
What is a guaranteed prize pool (GTD)?
Many tournaments and poker events have a guaranteed prize pool. This is the amount of money that will be set as the prize pool, regardless of the number of participants registered.
How do I get my seat?
Seats are assigned randomly.
How can I register for a tournament?
You can register at the normal counter up to 1 hour before the tournament, or save time by preregistering online on our website and go straight to the priority counter at the casino.
What does “button ante“ mean?
This amount is paid in each case by the player who gets the dealer button. This saves time compared to collecting the ante individually.
What does level mean at tournaments?
A tournament always has a certain number of levels that increase after a certain amount of time; for example, every 20 or 30 minutes. As the levels increase,
the small blind, the big blind, and the button ante are all increased.
What types of tournaments are there?
In a re-entry tournament you can buy back in to the tournament several times, until a certain level. The maximum number of possible re-entries is given from the beginning and varies depending on the type of tournament.
In a freezeout tournament each player starts with a set amount of chips. With time, the blinds are gradually increased, and the players are gradually eliminated. The tournament ends when a player wins all the chips from the other initial participants; becoming the winner of the tournament.
Satellite tournaments do not have a prize pool; instead, the winner gets a guaranteed seat in a tournament that typically has a relatively big prize pool. Satellite tournaments are very popular amongst poker players as they allow them to participate in larger tournaments, with a much lower initial buy-in.
For example, Chris Moneymaker, a 27-year-old accountant, secured his place at the WSOP 2003 by winning a satellite tournament with a buy-in of $86. He then won $2.5 million at the Main Event becoming the 2003 Poker World Champion!
In a turbo tournament, the blinds are increased relatively faster than in any other tournament. In a normal tournament the blinds are increased often every 30 minutes, while in a turbo tournament they are increased more frequently, at our casino typically every 15 minutes.
Deep Stack or Monster Stack Tournaments
Here you have a lot more chips on the table – more chips, more fun!
Bounty and Knockout Tournaments
In these tournaments, players pay an extra amount to participate – the bounty. When a player takes an opponent off the table, they get rewarded with their bounty.
